How a match night goes

  1. The next round comes from the table

After each round, Draftastic makes the next matches from the table: teams on about the same points play each other, and never the same two twice.

  2. Your next match

Each player’s phone says which table they’re on and who they play.

Mira’s phone. The Knights top the table after two rounds.

  3. Boards in from both teams

When a match ends, a player from either team enters how many boards each side won. The other team says yes on their phone, and the table moves.

If the two teams don’t agree, the score comes to you to settle.

Tomas’s phone. The Knights won 3 boards to 1, and the Bishops are asked to agree.

How it’s set up

Questions chess clubs ask

Can the score be boards won?
Yes. In Setup’s Play step, open More options. Under Call a point, choose Something else and type board. Scores are whole numbers, so there are no half points.
How many rounds can we play?
With 6 teams, you can play 3 to 5 rounds. Setup starts at 4, and teams meet only once where they can. See how a shorter league works.
What if two teams end on the same points?
The team that played the stronger teams goes higher. If they’re still level, board difference decides, then boards scored.
What if we have an odd number of teams?
Each round, one team sits out and still gets the win. Their phones say Straight through.
Need quick random teams for a casual night?
Use the team generator. Paste the names, and it makes random teams in a few seconds, with no sign-up.
