What Draftastic does

Draftastic is a web app that makes teams, then runs the event. People join on their phones, and the teams show on a big screen and on every phone. It’s free, and nobody needs an account or an app to join.

How it works shows each part on the real screens, with ideas for your group.

Draftastic compared puts it beside other ways to make teams and run a tournament.

Starting a draft

You don’t need an account. Setup asks for two things: the teams and the people.

Share the link or the join code, and people join on their phones.

Start a draft. It takes about a minute.

Joining a draft

Open the link you were sent, or join with a code. Then type your name and you’re in.

Your phone becomes your Ticket. It shows your team, and when you’re on next. Changing phones? Choose “Open on another device” on your Ticket.

Making the teams

Pick the teams yourself, let captains pick, or let Deal make them fair. People can also choose their own team, or say who they’d like to be with.

See Hand-pick, Captains, Deal, Choose and Preferences.

The big screen

Open the Stage on a laptop and a projector. Or choose “Add a TV” on the Stage, and follow the steps.

If something goes wrong on the night, choose “Something’s wrong” under More on the Stage.

See Show the teams.

Playing after the draft

When the teams are made, you can play a league, a knockout or a scoreboard. Match clocks are on unless you switch them off under More options.

See Choose how to play, Enter the scores, Follow it live and Let players enter scores.

Alerts and emails

Your phone can buzz when it matters to you: your pick, your team, your next match, or a score to check. Your Ticket asks once, when an alert would help.

On an iPhone, tap “Add to Home Screen” on your Ticket first. To stop alerts, switch off “Alerts on this phone” under You, on the Info tab.

A host can email results the morning after. Every email has a link at the bottom: open it and tap “Stop emails”.

Bringing people back

Make a host in Setup, under Look. It keeps your name and look from one event to the next, and gets a page of its own.

At the end of the night, “Run it again” on the Stage makes next week’s draft. People who came before are back in with one tap.

See Bring everyone back.

Running a season

Choose “Make it a season” when you run a league again. Each week is a round, and one table adds them up.

Finish the season when you say so, then start the next with the same teams. To share the work, choose “Add an organiser” under Organisers in Your drafts.

See Run a season, Run a league with divisions and Run a cup over several nights.

Drafts for children

Choose the School setting. Only first names show, there’s no chat, and only staff enter scores.

Children’s names are never sent to AI. Alerts are off unless the teacher turns them on, and they never name a child. The privacy notice says more.
