Fair quiz teams, and a scoreboard on the TV

People join on their phones and say who they’d like to sit with. Deal makes fair tables, with the quiz whizzes spread out. Then every round’s scores go up on the TV.

How the quiz goes

  1. Fair tables, with friends together

When people join, they pick Casual, Keen or Competitive. They can say who they’d like to sit with, too. Only they and you see who they asked for.

Deal spreads out the Competitive players, so no table gets all the quiz whizzes. It keeps as many friends together as it fairly can.

Kate’s phone. She asked for Lucy and Femi, and Deal put them at her table.

  2. Every round on the pub TV

After each round, enter every table’s score on your phone. Half points are fine. The TV adds up the totals and shows who is in the lead.

  3. Each table sees its total

Nobody needs to shout out the scores. Each phone at a table shows its total and its place, and which round is next.

How it’s set up

Questions quizmasters ask

Can I enter each round’s scores from my phone?
Yes. Open the Stage on your phone. After each round, enter each table’s score and save the round. Half points are fine. The TV and every phone show the new totals.
Can tables pick their own team names?
Yes. Anyone at a table can change its name on their phone, unless you switch that off in Setup. Stuck for names? Setup can name the tables for you from a list: animals, food, countries, colours and more.
Does it work for 100 people?
Yes. A draft takes up to 500 people, in up to 100 teams. Everyone joins with a link or a code. When the scoreboard is long, the TV shows it a page at a time.
Do you write the quiz questions?
No. Bring your own quiz. Draftastic makes the tables and keeps the score.
Can I just split people into random teams?
Yes. Paste the names into the team generator, and it splits them into random teams. You don’t need to sign up.
