An esports captains draft, live on your stream

Captains pick their teams on a 30-second clock, on a dark Stage you can stream. Then the teams play a knockout where losing once doesn’t end a run.

How an esports night goes

  1. Captains on the clock

Each captain gets 30 seconds. If the clock runs out, the top of their list is picked for them.

While they wait, captains put the players they want in order. Then a pick takes one tap.

Frost’s phone. Captains see each role, but not the ranks.

  2. A second chance

Lose once and you drop into the second-chance bracket. Lose twice and your run ends.

  3. Players say who won

When a match ends, a player on either team says who won, on their phone. The other team is asked to agree, and the bracket moves on.

If the teams don’t agree, it comes to you to check.

Mako’s phone. Vanta said they won, and Glacier are asked to agree.

Questions esports organisers ask

Can I put the draft on my stream?
Yes. On the Stage, press Add a TV. It gives an address to add to OBS, or other streaming software, as a browser source. It shows each pick on a clear background, then each result as the teams play.
Who picks first?
Setup starts with Random. With two teams, the Stage flips a coin. With three or more, it shuffles the picking order. To set the order yourself, choose Team order under First pick.
Is a second chance the same as double elimination?
Yes, in plainer words. The winners of the two brackets meet in the grand final. If the second-chance team wins it, both have lost once, so they play again. The Knockout guide shows where to choose it.
Can captains see each player’s rank?
Only if you say so. Rank starts as Organisers only. In Setup’s Questions step, edit Rank. Under Who can see the answers?, choose Captains and the person.
Just need random teams for a quick game?
Put the names into the team generator and say how many teams. It splits them at random, and nobody needs an account.
